Cyber Stalking

Cyberstalking can happen to anyone at anytime through any social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest , linkedln , Flickr , and Google +. Cyberstalking as defined by Wikipedia ,"is the use of the Internet or other electronic means to stalk or harass an individual, a group, or an organization.[1] It may include false accusations, defamation, slander and libel. It may also include monitoring, identity theft, threats, vandalism, solicitation for sex, or gathering information that may be used to threaten or harass."With the advent of smart phones the crime of cyberstalking has crossed over into the real world with real-time stalking.

Twitter is the most obvious of the social sites to cyberstalk someone. The use of smart phones and tablets have increased the ability to stalk a person or group of people.Twitter has had a plethora of  different cyber stalkers who circumvent the "block" feature of the social site. This gives no security or assurance that the stalker will stay away ( on twitter or in real life).

Facebook is a social site where people can covertly stalk and never let the one being stalked know they are being followed by the stalker at that time.Unlike Twitter, Facebook is not used for the sole purpose of informing the populous of real time events. Facebook stalking is a much more passive approach to cyberstalking .

Google + is another site that has a slightly different cyber stalker. The usual goal of a cyber stalker on google + is to access your bank accounts and other financial information. This is more of a con game than a stalker because the goal is not sociologically motivated, but greed orientated.

Flickr stalkers are more of an audience of viewers who follow different videos and pictures uploaded by different users. The stalking in Flickr is more acceptable to society than the previously stated forms of social media because the content is meant to be viewed anonymously without having to ever register any personal information.

Pinterest is probably the least intrusive of the social media sites. This site is used to upload pictures of different interests to the viewer. The site asks what you are interested in and then uses an alga-rhythm to suggest different pictures you would be interested in viewing. the suggestions come directly into your e-mail for selection.

Rough Draft Responce Essay #3

The show I decided to analyze is called South Park. The episode I watched was called 'Premium Isn't Free'. This show is a direct satire of current events of the world with poor cut-out animation. This episode is about free applications for the various tablet and Ipads, specifically the in application purchases.
The parody in this episode is that the apple store and google play are the new "drug pushers" with their addictive applications that are free to download yet purchases must be made to unlock features or advance the application along.
This type of sales strategy is one of psychological predication. the reliance upon an addiction to make sales rise is one that most unwanted companies such as alcohol and tobacco distributors. These companies are making it common place not only to accept the behavior of an addict but to also encourage it as normal behavior.
Not only is this a slippery slope to be on , it is compounded by peer pressure. this episode pressures one of the four main characters to lie to his friends so they believe he is advancing through  in app  purchases on his tablet. This episode mainly focused on the addictive aspect of this sales strategy, only toughing on the peer pressure angle.
The moral of this episode is that corporations are allowed to use this type of psychological sales strategy reminiscent of  the Reagan era anti-drug commercials where the "dealer" gives the first taste for free, but the next will cost you money. This predatory technique feeds on the feeble minded consumer who is unaware of the amount of money spent during the time the application is running.

Saturday night at The Hut I saw a musical band called Top Dead Center. The style of music is reminiscent of the sixty's pop culture. My expectations going to the concert were mearley to let loose and escape from the pressures of day to day life.In this case the other people who participated in the show expressed their opinions and feelings about the entertainment in the form of dance. This was the height of my expectations when I left my house to go to The Hut.
When i got to The Hut there were about twenty five to thirty people already dancing to the music. Many of the people I know well; this sense of familiarity help to draw me into the experience.
As i danced, the people and the venue faded into the background and all that was left was the music flowing through my body guiding me through the dance. The melody took my mind to another level of pleasure and freedom that seldom occurs.
I danced until my arms could not move. The total experience left me fulfilled and at ease with life.
Music is an outlet for escape on many levels for people. The contribution of music to the listener is always of insight and perspective not naturally seen solely from the listener. The perpous of music as entertainment is simply to provide an outlet for expression of the mind, body, and soul.
